Off-Duty Officer Thwarts Pair of Residential Burglars

CLAREMONT – A pair of burglars had no idea that an off-duty officer was watching their every move. As a result, Cameron Hall (36) of Claremont, and Rula Daleq (42) of Pomona are in lock-down.

Claremont PD received a call on June 18th at 8:28 a.m. as the off-duty officer observed the male suspect peer into windows and attempt to pry open doors.

The officers arrived at the burglary-in-progress on the 1400 block of Towne Avenue to encounter a female suspect inside the residence.

Subsequently, officers’ multiple commands to exit the residence caused the female to hide and not respond.  After law enforcement repeated attempts, they finally arrested Daleq.

A search of the inside of the residence revealed Hall hiding in a bedroom. Consequently, he found himself arrested without incident. Police booked both suspects at the Claremont PD Jail.

Cameron Hall’s charges were Burglary, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and outstanding warrants. His bail is $100,000. Rula Daleq was booked for Burglary and outstanding warrants and is being held in lieu of $85,000 bail.”

Both suspects are behind bars, awaiting arraignment on June 20 at Pomona Superior Court.
