Embezzlement Charge Brings Long Beach Resident Back to Inyo

BISHOP – In March of 2017 a Bishop resident contacted the BPD with an accusation of embezzlement against another person. Further investigation showed that the accused suspect engaged in an unauthorized use of funds,  as well as failing to “maintain payables.”

The BPD said that “A forensic analysis on the accounts was completed which revealed significant losses over a long period of time.”

31-year-old Leandra Wright, who had been in charge of the victim’s finances since 2008, turned herself into the the Inyo County Jail once she learning of BPD’s arrest warrant for her. Wright was released upon posting bail.

This case is ongoing and the BPD announced, “If you have any relevant information about this case or the suspect, please contact the Bishop Police Department at (760) 873-5866.”
