ANDERSON // On January 6th at around 9:30 PM, Anderson PD arrived at a residence on the 2900 block of Martha Street to investigate a domestic incident, during which a gun had reportedly been fired inside the home.

At the scene, officers learned that 25-year-old Kevin Dale Gross had gotten into an argument with his girlfriend earlier that evening and had fired two shots. Gross then fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival, reportedly still armed with the gun.

Police then canvased the area, eventually finding Gross near East Street and Ferry Street. He tried to elude police by hiding inside the Post Office and then running out the back door, but two armed officers were already waiting for him.

Gross was compliant from there on out, being arrested without further incident. However, officers noted that he no longer had the gun on him. The gun was later found in the bushes outside a nearby business.

Gross is charged with negligent discharge of a firearm within a residence, grand theft, possession of a loaded firearm within an incorporated city, and possession of a firearm within a school zone. He is housed at the Shasta County Jail.
