CLEARLAKE OAKS // 61-year-old David Wayne Christensen is in custody after a probation search of his home earned him a series of drug possession charges on December 14th.

Just after 10:30 PM, a deputy pulled Christensen over for a vehicle code violation on the 12000 block of Widgeon Way. Given that Christensen is on probation, the deputy had grounds to search the vehicle and did so — finding nothing.

Deputies then conducted a follow-up search at Christensen’s home and discovered a gallon-sized plastic bag containing nearly 13 pounds of suspected methamphetamine (street value: ~$37,000), as well as nearly 15 pounds of marijuana (street value: ~$14,000) packaged in one-pound increments. Also discovered were a loaded .38 caliber handgun and a high-capacity magazine.

Christensen was arrested and is housed at the Lake County Jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance for sale, possession of methamphetamine while armed, possession of marijuana for sale, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is also charged for possession of a large-capacity magazine and violation of probation.

His bail has been set to $25,000.
