Fremont police investigating first homicide in 2 years

FREMONT // On October 21st just after 11:30 PM, police received a report of a man suffering from a gunshot wound in the lobby of a hotel on the 5300 block of Farwell Drive.

Responding officers found the victim just outside the lobby and immediately realized his injuries were life-threatening. Field trauma aid was rendered prior to the arrival of paramedics, who then transported him to a trauma center.

Unfortunately, the victim passed away from his injuries.

Pending notification of family, the only information released at this time is that the victim is a 48-year-old man who is local to Fremont.

The investigation remains active and ongoing. According to Fremont PD, this is the city’s first reported homicide since 2015.
