25 Years in Prison for Fatal Hit-and-Run

LANCASTER — An 11-year-old girl lost her life in a hit-and-run accident this summer, and the driver has finally learned his fate.

25-year-old Eduardo Medrano Jr. was sentenced on Wednesday to 25 years in state prison for killing the young girl.  He had plead no contest on September 6th to one count of vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.

His girlfriend, 23-year-old Alicia Torres, plead no contest to one count of accessory after the fact and received three years of probation.

On July 18th, Medrano drove through a red light on 20th Street East and hit another vehicle.  The victim was ejected from the other vehicle.

Medrano fled the scene and Torres lied to police about where he was.
