Youth arrested at daycare for sexual assault

SAN JOSE – The San Jose Police Department has arrested a daycare worker who, as a minor, had sexual encounters with a teen under the age of 14. Charges have been filed as PC 289, Felony Sexual Assault of a Minor Under 14.

San Jose Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) / Child Exploitation Detail (CED) Task Force arrested the now 18-year old male who had reportedly been touching a young female juvenile at the daycare.

An  employee of the daycare “Jumping up Circle” reported the inappropriate behavior to police, who later arrested the suspect outside the daycare located on the 5900 Block of Almaden Expressway in San Jose and took the young 18-year-old to juvenile hall where he will be detained until a bail hearing is provided. The Santa Clara District Attorney’s office could seek to try him as an adult.
