Ann Woo

SAN JOSE — The San Jose Police Department has announced the death of prominent Chinese Art Director 75-year-old Ann Woo, of Cupertino. The death was reported on Friday, August 25, 2017, within weeks after suffering injuries from a female colleague who had joined three other women for a meeting at her office.

According to Sgt. Enrique Garcia of the San Jose Police Department, on August 11 at about 3:15 p.m. officers responded to the 6100 block of Bollinger Road on a fire aid call.

During that time it was determined that Woo had been in some type of physical altercation. The report of the fight detailed blunt force trauma to the head. An unconscious Woo lay in a pool of blood around her head on the side walk near the TeaTop Bubble Shop located at 6158 Bollinger Road in San Jose.

The report came just doors from the Chinese Performing Arts of America Organization. Woo’s husband in a written statement believed that Woo was pushed to the ground by a woman who was angry at her during a meeting about planning a performance during an upcoming Chinese Arts Festival.

The investigation into what caused Woo’s death is now being investigated by the San Jose Police Homicide Investigation Unit pending the notification of the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office detailing the cause of death.
