KELSEYVILLE — On August 14th at around 10:30 AM, Caltrans employees were conducting roadwork in the area of Cruickshank Road and Cole Creek Road, with assistance from local CHP units, when they were accosted by a man who proceeded to fire two shots in their direction.

Sheriff’s Units responded, at which point the man fired another shot, then two additional shots at a State Parks officer who was helping police set up a perimeter.

The suspect then fled on foot.

Officers from the CHP, Lakeport PD, Clearlake PD, Lake County DA’s Office, Mendocino Sheriff’s Office, and Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office helped establish a perimeter, with additional air support coming from CHP and Sonoma County Sheriff.

At around 5 PM that day, 43-year-old Joshua Caleb Brown of Kelseyville was located and arrested.
