Carjacking suspect wanted by Mountain View Police

MOUNTAIN VIEW — The Mountain View Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who was last seen firing a handgun from his car after getting into a fight with a patron at a local liquor store in Mountain View.

MVPD Dispatch Center received a call at 7:25 pm, on Friday June 23, 2017. The call reported that a man had fired a single bullet at a man outside the Bailey Plaza Liquors, located on the 500 block of North Shoreline Boulevard. No one was hit by the gunfire.

According to Mountain View Police, “The suspect then drove westbound on Montecito Avenue and got out of his car, approaching a man who was in his Honda CRZ.” The suspect then forced that man out of his Honda and drove away.

Soon after, one of the officers found the stolen Honda, but the suspect had fled.  Even though several others units responded, they were unable to locate the suspect.

Mountain View Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect, who was described as “a Hispanic adult man in his early to mid-thirties, roughly 5 feet 10 inches tall and roughly 180 pounds. He had stubble on his face and was described as having a tattoo of unknown design on the left side of his neck. He was last seen wearing a light-gray hooded sweatshirt and dark pants.”

If anyone has any information on this case, please contact Mountain View Detective Dan Garcia at 650-903-6624 and reference cases 17-03992 and 17-03995.
