Two Wanted Suspects Arrested in Redway

Zachary Brown (L) and Jesse Surbrugg (R)

REDWAY — Over the course of three days, Humboldt County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested two suspects previously seen on the Southern Humboldt’s Most Wanted poster.

On January 27th at around 3:45 PM, an anonymous tip alerted police that 22-year-old Zachary Brown was staying in a motel on the 3000 block of Redwood Drive. Brown was located and taken into custody without incident in connection to an outstanding warrant for battery causing serious injury.

Two days later, on the 29th at around 11:15 AM, crime suppression patrols downtown led authorities to cross paths with 37-year-old Jesse Lee Surbrugg, who was seen driving his car on the same block as the motel at which Brown was arrested. Surbrugg was contacted by deputies while inside a business on the 600 block of Redway Drive, then arrested without incident in connection to a felony arrest warrant for weapons violations.
