EUREKA — On January 5th, the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office received a report from a burglary victim who’d discovered his stolen items for sale on Craigslist.

Deputy Sheriffs and the victim arranged to meet the seller, later identified as 30-year-old Anthony Joseph Holberg, at an agreed-upon location.

Once all parties had arrived, it was determined that the property had indeed been stolen and rightfully belonged to the victim. Several additional stolen items were also discovered, as well as Holberg’s two outstanding warrants (one of which was for theft, of all things).

Holberg was arrested and transported to Humboldt County Correctional Facility where he was booked on charges of grand theft, receiving stolen property, and his two outstanding warrants. His bail has been set at $50,000.
