Traffic stop yields heroin, meth, stolen property

The Paso Robles Police arrested a man for possession of narcotics and stolen property last Tuesday.

According to PRPD, officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle around 1:15 p.m. on the 1800 block of Redwood Drive for vehicle code violations.

The driver of this vehicle was identified as Joseph Armas, 26, of Paso Robles.

During the traffic stop, Armas was discovered to be in possession of a checkbook belonging to another person.

Officers contacted the owner of the checkbook and it was learned that this person had been the victim of an unreported vehicle burglary sometime during the previous week. The vehicle burglary occurred in the 600 block of Nicklaus Street in Paso Robles.

Armas was arrested for several charges after he was found in possession of numerous items of stolen property, along with heroin, methamphetamine, and narcotics paraphernalia.

Officers were able to return over $500 worth of property to the victim of the vehicle burglary.

Armas was transported and booked into the San Luis Obispo County Jail for sales of controlled substances, transportation of controlled substances and possession of stolen property. His bail is set at $50,000.
