OSH on Theatre Drive

The Paso Robles Police arrested a man for allegedly stealing power tools from the Orchard Supply Hardware Store, located at 2005 Theatre Drive last Wednesday.

According to PRPD, they responded to a call of a theft of power tools that occurred the previous day. Police were able to identify the suspect through footage provided to them by store security who provided a picture of the suspect taken from the store’s security cameras.

At the time, the identity of the suspect was unknown and the PRPD sent out the photograph to social media sites asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect.

A day later PRPD received an anonymous tip that the suspect was Dustin Anthony Orton, 28 of Paso Robles.

Orton was located in the 200 block of Melody Street in Paso where he was questioned about his involvement in the theft. He admitted that he was responsible for the theft and handed over all of the stolen property to officers.

Orton was taken into custody on several theft related charges and an unrelated outstanding warrant. He was subsequently transported to San Luis Obispo County Jail, with bail was set at $7,000.
