PETALUMA – According to a press release issued by the Petaluma Police Department (PPD) on May 30th, a string of burglaries at home renovation work sites over the last few months has been solved.

The thefts occurred at unoccupied homes in the Petaluma area that were typically undergoing various types of renovation or reconstruction. The suspects entered the vacant properties by force and stole a variety of items from small fixtures and home improvement items to hand tools and larger construction equipment.

PPD Detectives had been developing recent leads that lead to the surveillance of two potential suspects. Both of the suspects had been seen together in the vicinity of G Street and 2nd Street shortly after 5:30 AM on Monday morning, May 30th.

The subjects were contacted and found to be in possession of various items from a recent theft in the 600 block of Sunnyslope Avenue. Other items were also found in their possession that connected them to other recent burglaries in the area.

The suspects were identified as 64-year-old Kevin John Atherton of Petaluma and 52-year-old Bradley Carl Holl, a transient from Sacramento. Both were arrested and booked into Sonoma County Jail.

Anyone with additional information concerning this crime (including victims who may be able to identify recovered property) is asked to contact Detective Lance Novello at 707-778-4334.
