Vehicle Violation Leads to Probation Arrest

WATSONVILLE — The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office arrested three men on probation on Monday after they were find riding in a vehicle with two loaded handguns and methamphetamine. Arrested were 18-year-old Bejarmen Sanchez, 18-year-old Brian Baires, and 18-year-old Jose Quijada.

On Monday, May 2, two deputies on patrol at around 12:15 PM spotted a tan Buick with a broken windshield in the 100 block of Cutter Drive in Watsonville. A stop was conducted and the occupants were contacted.

A records check on the three men came back revealing all three to have been on probation with search terms. Deputies searched the vehicle and found two loaded .380 caliber handguns and methamphetamine, as well as various articles of gang-related clothing.

Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested all three on numerous gun and drug charges. They were booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail.

Sanchez’s bail has been set at $5000, while both Baires and Quijada’s bail have been set at $25,000 respectively.
