Hollister Police Arrest Suspect in School Threat

HOLLISTER — Police have made an arrest in connection to the April 21st report of a threat made against students at San Benito High School.

After an anonymous source had issued a threat against students at the school, police posted an extra patrol in the immediate area and quickly began an investigation.

Said investigation eventually led them to a 16-year-old juvenile suspect, who is a student at the school and is believed to be the only culprit.

In light of this incident, the Hollister Police Department remains in close partnership with the school to reduce the likelihood of similar incidents in the future.

The incident in question is still under investigation as police work to determine a motive, as well as conclusively rule out the possibility of anyone else being involved. No further information has been released at this time.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is strongly encouraged to contact the Hollister Police Department at 831-636-4331. Those wishing to remain anonymous also have the option of calling the department’s WeTip line at 1-800-78-CRIME.
