San Jose Police Call on Public to Help Identify Stabbing Suspects

SAN JOSE — Police are asking for the public’s help in identify the suspect(s) responsible for the shooting death of an Oakland resident near South Market St. & Park Ave.

According to Sergeant Enrique Garcia of the SJPD, 33-year-old Michael Maynard of Oakland was stabbed several times by unknown suspects. They had fled by the time police arrived.

Police have released images and a video of the suspects in question:

Though the motive was originally speculated to have been gang-related, it is now only considered unknown. Police said it appeared that the victim and suspects had been involved in a verbal argument prior to the attack.
