Jamestown’s historic Rocco Park, where two men were found drunk and disorderly

Sometimes being drunk in public is only the start of a crime. On Tuesday, December 1 just after 10 pm, two men were reported to be drunk in Jamestown. They were located by deputies in Rocco Park on Main Street. One of the subjects was arrested, the other sent to the ER, according to the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s office.

The man sent by ambulance to the Emergency Room for intoxication was not identified. He did receive the medical attention he needed.

The other subject, Patrick Oliver Hickie, 34, currently from Stockton, was arrested for five outstanding warrants. The first one was for a failure to appear in court.  He had gotten a court date because he did not have proof of insurance when he got a seat belt violation. The second was also from a failure to appear after taking a vehicle without the owner’s permission. He was also charged with petty theft and probation violations.

His past includes an arrest in September 2014, when he lived in the far northern California town of Orick, a coastal town north of Eureka, when he was charged with domestic violence – battery on a spouse or co-habitant. In May of 2014 he was also charged with disorderly conduct, public intoxication.

Earlier in 2014 and 2013 he lived in Sonora, up the highway from Jamestown in the Sierra foothills. He was charged three times then on outstanding warrants.

Earlier records show an arrest in 2011 for being under the influence of a controlled substance and driving under the influence. He was residing in Jamestown at that time. In 2009 he was arrested for another charge of domestic battery. The earliest record available showed an arrest in 2008 for driving under the influence.

For his latest arrest, bail was set at $60,000 for the reported Handyman.
