Today marks the end of a 6 month ordeal. Robert Timothy Presson reported his wife missing in July 25, 2015. She was 58 and he is 56.  They were from Columbia, California, in the Sierra Nevada foothills north of Sonora in Tuolumne County.  Originally he described her disappearance as a “vanishment”.  She supposedly just started walking away from the house.

On Saturday, August 8th, Jeane Presson’s body was found. Tuolumne County had a multiple agency attack on this crime. Several search warrants were issued and multiple items of evidence were noted. Presson gave several statements that implicated his involvement in the death and disappearance of his wife. Further evidence was collected and analyzed determining his involvement.

Presson resided in this Mobile Home park on Parrotts Ferry Road.

Robert Presson was arrested Tuesday, and is currently in custody at the Tuolumne County Jail with a bail set at one million dollars.

Violence against his wife was not unprecedented. On September 13 of last year he was arrested for domestic violence – battery on a spouse, former spouse or co-habitant. In both instances he listed his occupation as a dishwasher, and resided at the Columbia Mobile Home Park.

The Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office expressed their heartfelt condolences to the family of Jeane Presson in a statement released today.
