Suspect Sought in Wedding Burglaries

Denise Louise Burns

FALLBROOK – The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department has issued an arrest warrant for a 50-year-old woman who dresses up like a guest at wedding parties and robs the bridal suites.

San Diego County Sheriff’s detectives are looking for Denise Louise Burns – also known as Denise Gunderson – and San Diego Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to her arrest.

Police officials said Burns attends wedding parties dressed as a guest, and then makes her way into the bridal suite, where she steals wallets, cash, gifts, and anything of value she finds in the room.

Police suspect Burns of robbing wedding parties this year in Fallbrook, Coronado, Santee, La Mesa, and Temecula. Burns is suspected of last robbing a wedding held June 7 at the Pala Mesa Resort in Fallbrook. In that incident, the couple did not realize they were robbed until the following day, when they found multiple charges had been made to their credit cards.

Burns is also suspected of committing similar crimes in San Bernardino County. Anyone with information about Burns’ whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-888-580-8477.
