SAN FRANCISCO — Two suspects were arrested on Thursday, October 8 in connection with a 2014 shooting death of a man in San Francisco’s Potrero Hill neighborhood, police said. One of the suspects had been previously arrested for the murder of the slain man’s younger brother.

28-year-old Maurice Bibbs and 33-year-old Myesha Carr were arrested for fatally shooting 28-year-old Paris Raynaldo with Deandre Watson, 27, who had already been arrested in August 2014 following the murder.

Carr was already in police custody on other charges when police served her with the warrant. In December, Carr was arrested in connection with the November shooting death 23-year-old Daron Raynaldo, Paris Raynaldo’s brother. She was picked up with 20-year-old Marquez Harrison, who was also charged with Daron’s murder.

It’s unclear whether Carr was being held for the murder of Daron Raynaldo when police served her with a warrant for Paris Reynaldo’s murder, said San Francisco police spokesperson Grace Gatpandan.

Paris and Daron Raynaldo’s cases are being conducted separately, Gatpandan said, so it’s uncertain whether the murders were related by motive.

Bibbs was taken into San Francisco police custody without incident Thursday morning on 1500 block of Visalia in Richmond. He was booked in San Francisco County Jail on felony charges of murder, conspiracy, being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm, providing a firearm to a prohibited person, and accessory.

On the morning of August 7, 2014, officers found Paris Raynaldo suffering from multiple gunshot wounds on the floor of his Connecticut Street apartment in Potrero Hill. He died shortly after medics arrived. A police investigation led to Watson’s arrest three weeks later. As the investigation continued, Bibbs and Carr were eventually identified as suspects in Paris’s murder. A ten million dollar warrant was issued for their arrest.

In November 2014, on Thanksgiving day, a silver Acura pulled up to the 700 block Missouri Street at approximately 3:30 p.m. Police said a suspect stepped out of the car and shot a man later identified as Daron Raynaldo. Raynaldo later died at San Francisco General Hospital. Harrison and Carr were arrested at a Mission Street hotel on December 23. It was believed that Harrison was the shooter, and Carr drove the Acura. They were also suspected in a series of car burglaries and robberies, according to SFGate.

Maurice Bibbs and Deandre Watson were known to have been members of the Eddy Rock gang in San Francisco. According to court records, Watson was a juvenile when convicted for a 2003 felony grand theft and misdemeanor burglary. After being sent to a residential program for juvenile offenders he left without permission, was moved to a new program, and was charged with misdemeanor battery on his roommate. After being released in 2006 to his mother’s home, he was arrested for carrying a loaded, concealed firearm and resisting arrest.

Maurice Bibbs had been charged on December 26 of 2006 with burglary and criminal conspiracy. Then in March of 2007, Bibbs and Watson were arrested together in a carjacking incident, after they had both jumped into a rental car on a San Francisco street. The renter, a pregnant woman, approached and Bibbs brandished a handgun at her. She called police, who found her “sobbing uncontrollably, appearing to have been traumatized by the event”.

They pair were found an hour later in the rental car, and the gun was in the back seat. They were arrested and indicted by the court for carjacking, possession of a firearm in committing a crime of violence, and tampering with a witness. They were both found guilty. Watson further made the news because part of his sentence was being effectively “banished” from the city of San Francisco, a ruling that held up in the court of appeals.

Since that incident, records show that in Februay of 2011, Bibbs was charged with possession and transportation of a controlled substance. And in January of 2014, Watson was arrested for burglary while living in West Sacramento.
