Pair of Cousins Caught Stealing at Outlet Mall

LAMONT — A pair of female shoplifters are behind bars after being arrested in Lamont on Tuesday.

Wendy Bohannon, 39, and 19-year-old Brialani Bohannon were booked into the Kern County Jail for conspiracy and grand theft

According to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, the two women, who are cousins, were seen stealing clothing items from several outlet stores at the Tejon Outlet Mall at Tejon Ranch, just outside of Lamont on Oct. 6, at about 5:30 p.m. The mall is located just off Interstate 5 on the northern side of the Grapevine route, just at the bottom of the grade.

Deputies said when they arrived, they were directed by witnesses to the two female suspects, and upon searching Bohannon’s vehicle, discovered numerous items of stolen clothing, including shoes, hats and purses from several stores including Osh Kosh/Carters, Gymboree, Banana Republic, Zumiez, Kitchen Collection, Aeropostale, Cotton On and The Gap.

Detectives said the value of the recovered merchandise was approximately $4000, and was returned to the stores immediately following their discovery.
