Farm Thieves Arrested in Lamont

LAMONT — Deputies arrested two men for stealing farm equipment and a third for drugs in the City of Lamont on Wednesday.

Donald Christy, 54, and 38-year-old Anthony Sierra were booked into the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Central Receiving Facility on charges of grand theft and conspiracy, while 57-year-old Glen Jackson was booked on possession of controlled substance. All three men are from Lamont.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, detectives have from the Sheriff’s Office Rural Crime Investigation Unit have been conducting an investigation into the sudden increase in thefts of farm equipment in the Lamont area over the past several weeks.

That investigation led detectives to a home in the 8300 block of Fuller Drive in the Lamont area on Aug. 19, where they said they discovered stolen farm equipment. Detectives also made contact the three suspects at the residence, including Jackson, who was found in possession of suspected methamphetamine.
