California Highway Patrol Issues 230 Citations in Traffic Enforcement Operation

“On April 17, 2024, the California Highway Patrol, along with the Bakersfield Police Department, conducted a joint Traffic Enforcement/Crime Suppression Operation in the Bakersfield Area.  The operation was focused primarily to State Route 99 and State Route 58 within the Bakersfield City Limits.

During the operation, a total of 230 citations were issued (127 for speed, five for seatbelt, 13 for cell phone, 35 for commercial violations, and 48 for mechanical violations). 14 drivers received verbal warnings, nine vehicles were impounded, nine stolen vehicles were recovered, and three felony arrests were made.

There were also 42 commercial vehicle inspections conducted. 10 commercial drivers and 12 commercial vehicles were placed out of service.”
