Suspect Arrested for Rancho Cordova Homicide

The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department and Rancho Cordova Police Department have arrested a suspect in connection to the murder of a 20-year-old male this past weekend, according to an official press release.

Fabian Pozos, 22, was reportedly detained at the scene by patrol officers and is currently in custody at the Sacramento County Main Jail on the charge of murder.

According to Sac Sheriff, just after midnight on Saturday, June 21, 2014, Rancho Cordova patrol officers responded to the 10500 block of Peter A. McCuen Boulevard in Rancho Cordova in response to a reported stabbing. Upon arrival, officers reportedly found several people attempting to give medical assistant to a 20-year-old black male victim. Medics from Sacramento Metro Fire Department reportedly arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.

Sac Sheriff homicide detectives reportedly also responded to the scene and determined the homicide was a result of an argument between the victim and another individual — later identified as Pozos — that had escalated into violence.

Detectives are asking anyone with additional information regarding this incident to contact the Sheriff’s Department at 916-874-5115.
