Tulare Police Chief Arrested, Released

TULARE – The chief of police for the City of Tulare was arrested at his home on Sunday following an alleged dispute with his girlfriend, according to the city.

Police Chief Jerry Breckinridge was arrested Sunday by the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department after his girlfriend filed a report stating that a dispute had occurred on Saturday night.

Breckinridge was released on bail and no charges have been filed, according to a statement released by Tulare City Manager Don Dorman.

“Chief Breckinridge continues his regularly scheduled duties,” the statement said.

Breckinridge has been Police Chief since 2009, when he took over for Roger Hill, who had held the position for 28 years.

No other details were released about the alleged dispute or the arrest.
