Ten Arrested in Extra Drug Patrol

DELANO — A total of 10 people were arrested last Thursday after a directed patrol in the City of Delano.

Among those arrested were Irvin Chavez for a misdemeanor warrant, Alex Lorona for being under the influence and in possession of a marijuana, Frank Simental for being under the influence and in possession of paraphernalia, Richard Navarrette for being in possession of methamphetamine, Leandro Serna for being under the influence and for being in possession of a marijuana, Juan Lopez for being under the influence and in possession of paraphernalia and one juvenile for being in possession of cocaine.

According to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, the patrol was conducted in response to a recent increase in gang violence in the City of Delano.

Deputies with the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Gang Unit , in cooperation with the Delano Police Department, conducted the operation.
