3 Suspects Rob Hollister Rabobank

HOLLISTER—Two masked men burst into the Rabobank on Tres Pinos Road in Hollister and made off with an undisclosed amount of money from the bank.

At 10:50 a.m., police received two alarm notifications, one automated and the other from employees calling 911 to report the armed robbery.   An investigation revealed that two suspects armed with handguns came through the front door and told employees and customer to get down on the floor, while yelling profanities at them.

It was reported that the two robbers ran to the counter, demanded money and then vaulted over the counter and collected as much money as they could.  The two then ran out the door into a vehicle that was waiting in the parking lot.

“This branch did not have the security features that some other banks have,” Hollister Police Captain Dave Westrick said. “Bank robberies are very rare in this town. It may happen once in great while.”

The two suspects were described as males, between 5’9” and 6 feet with medium builds.  One was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt while the other one was wearing a gray or white hooded sweatshirt.  Both were armed with handguns.

There was a third suspect that was waiting in a car outside the bank.  The car was described as an older model white 2-door Honda Accord with a license plate similar to 6WK2K3.  However, no one was able to get a description of the driver.   All three suspects were last seen speeding away from the area.

“This robbery was planned, these guys were not in the bank for very long,” Westrick added. “We had unit cover the area of Tres Pinos Road, because their last known direction of travel was west on Tres Pinos Road. Nothing was seen.”

A BOL was issued to surrounding law enforcement agencies.   The suspects or their vehicle has not been located.  The Hollister Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation will be conducting a joint investigation.
