Davis woman allegedly strikes bf with vehicle

WOODLAND – The future of a Yolo County couple’s relationship is likely in jeopardy following the girlfriend’s arrest Saturday for allegedly running down her boyfriend with her car.

Elena Lund-Tessler, 31, of Davis, was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon after turning herself in at the Davis Police Department at 12:40 p.m. Saturday, Woodland police Sgt. Steve Guthrie said.

Guthrie said it went down like this: Lund-Tessler and her boyfriend, a 33-year-old Woodland man, got into an argument as they were leaving Kenny’s Bar on East Street in Woodland. The fight continued as the couple drove in Lund-Tessler’s car to the boyfriend’s home on Shiloh Court. The couple apparently did not make peace as the boyfriend exited the car.  As she was leaving the cul-de-sac, Lund-Tessler allegedly made a U-turn, accelerated toward the victim and struck him with her car in the roadway. Guthrie said the impact caused the victim to roll over the top of the moving vehicle and land on the pavement.

Witnesses told police that Lund-Tessler tried unsuccessfully to strike the victim two more times before fleeing the scene. Police were summoned shortly before 2 a.m. to the victim’s home, where they found him with injuries to his leg, arm and hand, Guthrie said. He was taken by ambulance to the UC Davis Medical Center for treatment. Although the extent of the victim’s injuries were unclear, “he was up and able to speak to police before he was transported,” Guthrie said.

Lund-Tessler was lodged at the Yolo County Jail, where her bail was set at $25,000.
