Man shot at bus stop during attempted robbery

CITRUS HEIGHTS –  A man standing at the bus stop early Thursday morning near the intersection of Auburn Boulevard and Devecci Avenue in Citrus Heights was shot in the hip during an attempted armed robbery.

Investigators said the victim was approached by a man holding a gun.  The suspect demanded the victim’s personal property and when the victim hesitated, the gunman fired a single bullet into the air.
The victim hesitated again, and the suspect shot the man in the hip before running south on Manzanita Avenue, authorities said.

The unidentified victim received non-life threatening injuries and was expected to survive.Police have not caught the suspect who is described as a white man in his late to early 20’s, 5-foot-8, with a thin build.He was last seen wearing a dark hat, dark jacket and jeans.
