Goshen shooting leaves four wounded

GOSHEN — Four Goshen residents were wounded and a 17-year-old suspect has been arrested in a shooting that took place just after midnight Saturday.

The incident happened at a house in the 30600 block of Road 72, where Tulare County sheriff’s deputies responded to a call that several victims had been shot.

According to sheriff’s deputies at the scene, witnesses reported that several armed young men forced open the front door of the residence, “came in and began shooting people,” according to sheriff’s spokesman Chris Douglass. Deputies said that several of the victims “fled from the residence after being shot,” Douglass conveyed.

The suspects also stole a cell phone, sheriff’s deputies said.

Those injured were Hugo Cruz, 19, Guitano Morales, 29, Baldomero Cruz, 24, and Norberto Murillo, 23. The four victims were transported to area hospitals, where Hugo Cruz and Murillo have been reported in stable condition. Baldomero Cruz is in critical condition, according to the sheriff’s department, and Morales’ condition is unknown after going through surgery.

While on the scene, sheriff’s deputies found a 17-year-old male juvenile hiding in a field near the crime scene. He was identified as one of the suspects in the shooting and placed under arrest. He was booked at the Juvenile Detention Facility for attempted homicide, home invasion robbery and participating in a gang crime.

The sheriff’s department is on the lookout for the remaining suspects, described as three Hispanic males, medium height, medium build, in their late teens or early 20s. At the time of the crime, they were wearing dark clothing with their faces covered, and they were armed with firearms, deputies said. They were last seen leaving the scene on foot.
