SEVILLE – The Tulare County Sheriff’s Office is looking for the suspect in Saturday’s shooting death of a man in Seville.
The suspect in the case is Jose Fedrico Ruiz Jr., 23, of Woodlake. He is also known to have lived in the areas of Visalia and Orosi. The suspect has a mole on his face under his right eye and a tattoo on his right forearm with the letters “OGS.”
“The suspect was identified through investigation and statements by various sources,” said Tulare sheriff’s Sgt. Chris Douglass.
On June 5 around 7:30 p.m., deputies were dispatched to a gunshot victim outside a convenience store in the 1500 block of Ave 384 in Seville, a few miles southeast of Orosi. The victim, 18-year-old Salvador Alvarado of Orosi, died at the scene.
Detectives from the Violent Crimes Unit and Gang Unit were called to investigate and discovered that the suspect saw the victim at the store, shot at the victim, and left the scene on foot, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Douglass said that the suspect is known to associate with gangs.
