Masked robber hits Sactown bank

SACRAMENTO — A masked criminal terrorized a bank employee and escaped with her car after robbing the employee’s place of business Friday morning.

The gun-wielding suspect entered the unnamed financial institution on the 8300 block of Folsom Boulevard around 9:30 a.m. and grabbed a female employee, according to police reports. After making demands for cash, the suspect then obtained the shaken employee’s keys and fled in her vehicle.

Sacramento police found the abandoned vehicle near Great Falls Way and Occidental Drive.

The Sacramento Police Department is seeking the community’s help in identifying the suspect and has released a bank surveillance image. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male of about 25, clean-shaven with long side burns. He was wearing a dark or royal blue hooded pullover sweatshirt with a white emblem on the left chest area and black jeans.

The Sacramento Police Department urges anyone with information pertaining to this crime to contact Crime Alert at (916) 443-HELP or text in a tip to 274637 (CRIMES). Enter SACTIP followed by the tip information. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward up to $1,000.
