Roseville PD Arrests 3 Suspects in Stolen Car Case

Three suspects are reportedly in custody after trying to run from a stolen car they had been driving during a patrol stop, according to an official weekly crime report issued by the Roseville Police Department.

Brittany Rochelle Baldwin, 25, of Ceres, and Robert William Rank, 29, of Sacramento were reportedly arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft, drug possession and other related charges. And Manuel Gustavo Herrera, 44, of Sacramento was reportedly booked and released for drug possession.

According to Roseville PD, on Tuesday, January 20 at 1:45 pm, a patrol officer checked on a car in the 1900 block of Douglas Boulevard, and found out it had been stolen from Sacramento. The officer followed, and then stopped the car in the 1600 block of Eureka Road.

Three people reportedly ran from the car in different directions. Officers rounded up two of them — Rank and Baldwin — fairly quickly, and they found the third suspect, Herrera, a couple of hours later in the 1600 block of Jordan Drive. Officers found methamphetamine and suspected shoplifted items from various stores in the stolen car.

Brittany Baldwin has been in frequent trouble over the past year. In July of last year she was arrested by Modesto Police for burglary, petty theft, conspiracy, and possession of stolen property. That was followed in August by and arrest by Ceres Police for battery and possession of a controlled substance. In October she was charged with petty theft, possession of a controlled substance and probation violations in an arrest by Ceres Police.

By December, she was in Sacramento and was arrested by Sac PD at the 19th Street Safeway shopping center for possession of a controlled substance. Robert Rank was with her then as well, and charged with possession of burglar’s tools and stolen property – a motor vehicle. At that time Rank claimed a residence in Modesto, but has since relocated to Sacramento. He claimed to be a student, while Baldwin listed her occupation as childcare or nanny. According their Facebook pages, they are engaged.

In addition to his occupation as a student, for his latest arrest, Rank reported his occupation as fleet manager, and according to his Facebook page, he works for the family business Rank Investigations and Protection, where he claims to be both a fleet manager and K9 handler. His name is listed as one of three Ranks in the company website. Rank Investigations, according to their website and Facebook page provides security and investigative services, including vehicle recovery. Was he working as a “Repo Man” when arrested for these auto thefts? Perhaps, but it seems unlikely since he ran from the scene, and for the presence of drugs and stolen property in the car.
