The arrests of Richard McFadden, 49, and Danny Bill Cox Jr., 21, do not appear to be related. According to an official report from the Madera Sheriff’s Department, McFadden was arrested on Monday, July 20 at just before 6 pm by officers with the Madera Police Department. McFadden, who reports his occupation as disabled, was charged with a felony probation violation related to two earlier arrests, from 2010, on domestic violence charges. He had been booked in May and August of that year from inflicting corporal injury on a spouse or co-habitiant, and damaging a telephone or phone line. (That combination of charges usually occurs when an attacker destroys or disables a victim’s phone to keep them from calling for help.)

Danny Cox, who lives just four spaces away from McFadden at the Meadows complex, was also arrested by Madera Police, and booked just over an hour later. He was charged with assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm, and with force likely to cause great bodily injury. Cox reported that he is currently not working.

McFadden was held without bail for his violation, and bail for Cox was set at $25,000.00.
