Grover Beach police interrupt alleged burglary-in-progress, arrest suspect

“Very early on Wednesday morning (10/28 @ 2:16am), one of GBPD’s finest was patrolling through a business complex on 13th St. when the Officer noticed an open front door and movement inside a darkened and closed business.

The Officer determined that someone had forced their way into the building and was committing a burglary. Despite our instructions, the burglar refused to come out and hid inside the business complex.

Officers from the Grover Beach Police, Pismo Beach Police, and Arroyo Grande Police Departments surrounded the area and were able to locate and arrest the suspect without incident.
John Victor Whittington, age 37, was arrested and booked into the San Luis Obispo County Jail for 459 PC: Burglary, 594(a)(2) PC: Vandalism, 466 PC: Possession of Burglary Tools, 11364(a) H&S: Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and 1203.2 PC: Violation of Probation.”
