NORCO – A mid-day armed robbery and assault occurred on October 17 at a business in Norco. Now, deputies arrested three people in connection with the crime.

Riverside Sheriff’s deputies arrested Drashawn Stewart, 21, of San Bernardino, and Autumn Smith, 20 of Fontana, along with a third suspect identified as a male juvenile.

Deputies charged the two adult suspects with robbery and booked them at the Robert Presley Detention Center. The juvenile suspect was arrested for an outstanding felony warrant and booked at Riverside Juvenile Hall. The juvenile suspect is also facing robbery charges.

Sheriff’s deputies at the Norco Sheriff’s office arrived at a retail business on Hammer Avenue.  At 2:20 p.m. on October 17 they responded to reports of an armed robbery.

When police arrived, the victims reported that two male suspects had entered the business and stole property. This happened after they assaulted one employee and brandished a weapon at another. The two male suspects then fled in a vehicle driven by a third suspect identified as an adult female.

A description of the suspects and the vehicle was provided to deputies in the area. A few minutes later, deputies spotted the vehicle driving north on Interstate 15 near Eastvale.

Police followed the vehicle and stopped it at an intersection in the city of Ontario, where they arrested suspects without incident. Police said they located stolen property in the vehicle prior to the arrests.
