SAN JOSE, Calif — The San Jose Police Department is asking the public’s help in identifying two robbery suspects last seen driving from a parking lot near the 1000 block of Story Road in San Jose.

According to Sergeant Enrique Garcia, “On Thursday, August 31, 2017, at about 9:45 AM, a robbery occurred in a parking lot in the 1000 block of Story Road, near Clemence Avenue.”

Video footage taken from the scene shows the suspects as they stood outside a newer dark colored 4-door Nissan sedan. One suspect approached an elderly woman and began to struggle with her purse.

Eventfully the suspect stripped the purse from the elderly victim and quickly ran to his vehicle where his accomplice then drove them away. Garcia said, “The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries as a result of the robbery.”

The first suspect, who was the passenger of the vehicle and the person responsible for the purse theft, is being described as a Hispanic male, in his early 20s. It is estimated that he stands around 6′ 1″ tall with a heavy build.  He was last seen wearing green/black camouflage cargo shorts, a black t-shirt, and a dark colored baseball cap.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Mike Drago of the San Jose Police Department’s Robbery Unit at 408-277-4166. Persons wishing to remain anonymous may either call the Crime Stoppers Tip Line, (408) 947-STOP (7867) or click the “Submit a Tip” link below.
