EL DORADO COUNTY — On April 28th just before 11 AM, Sheriff’s Deputies arrived on the 100 block of Argonaut Drive in Diamond Springs to investigate a suspicious-circumstance call.

There they discovered a deceased 41-year-old white male in the home, who’d apparently died as a result of a gunshot wound. The victim’s truck and a juvenile family member who’d reportedly been staying at the home were nowhere to be found.

Detectives were called in and managed to locate the victim’s truck being driven by the juvenile relative. Subsequent investigation identified said juvenile as the primary suspect in the shooting.

He has since been booked into El Dorado County Juvenile Hall on charges of murder. Meanwhile, the investigation is ongoing. The victim has also been identified as 41-year-old Erik Raymond Butler of Diamond Springs.
