Hollister Authorities Deal with a Dirty Dozen…Plus

Five Agencies participate in the Compliance Check

HOLLISTER—A compliance check that was supported by the City Of Hollister Safe Communities and neighborhoods project netted 15 suspects on various charges.

On July 2, officers with the Hollister Police Department, the San Benito County Probation Department, California Department of Correction, the U.N.E.T. team along with the San Benito County Sheriff’s Office conducted the compliance check on 19 known gang members at their residences within the city limits of Hollister.

Authorities made 12 arrests in the early morning check.  Arrested were Steven Bautista (32) for possession of a controlled substance and a warrant; Michael Cecena (28) for violation of probation; Kourtney Mceachin (21) for possession of a hypodermic needle, possession of narcotic drugs and procession of a controlled substance; Chad Bachman (21) for possession of a narcotic drugs and possession of a hypodermic needle; Trisha Bachman (43) for possession of a dirk or dagger, a hypodermic needle, possession of narcotic drugs and being a convicted felon in possession of ammunition and a probation violation; Tialoc Zuniga (37) for being a parolee at large; Scott Snowden (29) for possession of marijuana and violation of probation; Isaias Sanchez (23) on local warrant and possession of a hypodermic needle and obstruction; Carlos Sanchez (30) on local warrants possession of a hypodermic needle and obstruction; Daniel Gallegos (19) for violation of probation; Jaime Rosales (29) for violation of probation and Edgar Cortez (29) for violating his terms of probation.

“During the evening, the team executed the street portion of the operation,” Hollister Police Chief David Westrick reported. “We arrested three additional individuals for warrants and probation violations.”

Authorities arrested Daniel Gomez (41) on a warrant, Adrian Del Real for a violation of his probation and Luis Barajas (58) for violating his terms of probation.

The grant that funded this compliance check supports the Hollister Police Department and their efforts to combat criminal and gang activity.
