Last Monday around 8 a.m., a 14-year-old girl was walking to school when she was approached at Munson Way and Florin Road by an unknown male, who asked her if she wanted to make some money. The victim ran away and reported the incident.

The next morning, the same thing happened to a second female juvenile on her way to school. She was approached near the same intersection and asked sexual questions by an unknown male. The female ran away but did not report the incident until Friday.

On Thursday, Dec. 9, at approximately 8 a.m., a 17-year-old female was approached near the same location by unknown male asking sexual questions. The female ran away and a nearby witness was able to obtain the suspect’s vehicle license plate.

Based on the information provided by the witness, patrol and a school resource officer were able to identify the suspect as James Nand, and notified detectives for the follow-up investigation. On Friday, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Nand, arresting him later that evening in the 7700 block of Quinby Way.

A photo of the suspect is not being released at this time due to the ongoing investigation with other potential victims.
