Police: Four suspects, including juveniles young as 11, involved in alleged assault and robbery of 70-year-old woman
Three suspects, including two juveniles as young as 11, have reportedly been arrested in connection to the alleged robbery and assault of a 70-year-old woman in San Francisco.
Late on the afternoon of July 31, officers responded to the 100 block of Francisco Street where a 70-year-old woman had reportedly been the victim of a robbery.
The victim told officers that four juveniles had approached her on the street and began talking to her, but that she couldn’t understand them due to a language barrier. She ducked into the lobby of a building and the group allegedly followed her inside, attacked her, stole her property, and fled. The victim was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries, police said.
Investigators with the SFPD Robbery Unit soon identified the four suspects — 18-year-old Darryl Moore of Oakland, and three juveniles ages 14, 13, and 11, respectively. Arrest warrants were issued for all but the 11-year-old, who could not be charged due to their age, police said.
On August 10, Moore, the 13-year-old, and the 11-year-old were intercepted by police in Milpitas on an unrelated criminal matter. Moore was arrested and booked at the Santa Clara County Jail and the 13-year-old was arrested and booked at the Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall. The 11-year-old was reportedly transferred to the custody of the Alameda County Assessment Center.
The 14-year-old suspect has not yet been located and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
