Operation Consequences Yields Nine Felony Arrests and 10 Firearms in San Bernardino County
SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, CA — A weeklong law enforcement operation targeting violent crime, gang activity, and illegal firearms resulted in nine felony arrests and the seizure of 10 weapons across San Bernardino County.
Between August 17, 2026, and August 23, 2026, investigators from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Gangs/Narcotics Division, patrol station deputies, and partnering agencies served 13 search warrants. Enforcement activities occurred in Colton, Fontana, Victorville, San Bernardino, Hesperia, and Barstow. Additionally, the San Bernardino Movement Against Street Hoodlums (SMASH) Street Enforcement Team (SET) conducted proactive patrols in San Bernardino and surrounding areas.
During the operational period, investigators contacted documented gang members and individuals legally prohibited from owning firearms. Law enforcement officers seized 10 firearms, including one unserialized firearm, commonly referred to as a “ghost gun,” and made nine felony arrests.
Operation Consequences is supported by funding authorized by the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors to provide enhanced law enforcement services targeting quality-of-life issues. The multi-agency initiative will continue over the coming months in the High Desert and areas surrounding the city of San Bernardino to curb violent crime, disrupt street gangs, and locate individuals involved in the illegal possession, manufacturing, and trafficking of firearms.
Participating entities include the Sheriff’s Gangs/Narcotics Division, Specialized Enforcement Division, local patrol stations, the California Highway Patrol, the San Bernardino Police Department, San Bernardino County Probation, and Department of Homeland Security Investigations.
