Sheriff’s Deputies Use Drone Technology to Arrest Four for Negligent Gunfire in Salida

SALIDA, CA – Four individuals were arrested Saturday afternoon after law enforcement personnel responded to reports of gunfire in a Salida neighborhood, according to the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office.

At approximately 4:55 p.m. on June 13, 2026, sheriff’s deputies received multiple calls regarding active gunshots in the vicinity of Kiernan Avenue and Zinfandel Avenue. Deputies and California Highway Patrol officers already deployed in the immediate area confirmed hearing several weapon discharges.

In response, deputies utilized an aerial drone to survey the surrounding properties. The drone operators located four individuals on a nearby property who were actively discharging a firearm while consuming alcoholic beverages.

Following a field investigation at the scene, law enforcement personnel took all four suspects into custody. The individuals were transported and booked into the Public Safety Center on charges of negligent discharge of a firearm. Authorities used the incident to remind the community to practice proper firearm and safety protocols during the upcoming summer holidays.
