Cambria Man Arrested on Child Sexual Abuse Material Allegations Following Search Warrant
CAMBRIA — On June 10, 2026, the Detective Division of the Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at a residence located within the 400 block of Leighton Street in Cambria. The operation was part of an ongoing investigation concerning the possession of suspected Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM). This case initiated in April 2026 after both the Sheriff’s Office and the San Luis Obispo Police Department received multiple tips regarding the possession of the material.
The suspect involved in the case has been identified as 45-year-old Roberto MercadoLeonardo, a resident of Cambria. Law enforcement officials arrested MercadoLeonardo on charges related to the possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM), involving a volume of more than 600 images. Following his arrest, MercadoLeonardo was booked into the San Luis Obispo County Jail and has since been released after posting bail.
At this stage of the investigation, authorities have not determined if there are any local victims associated with the suspect.
