Palm Springs Police Department IMPACT Team Seizes Narcotics and Firearm During Felony Arrest
PALM SPRINGS, CA — An officer with the Palm Springs Police Department’s IMPACT Team recently arrested a wanted felony suspect and recovered narcotics and a firearm during a routine patrol operation.
IMPACT Team Officer Brown observed a vehicle operated by a suspect with an outstanding felony warrant. Officer Brown initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and took the individual into custody without incident.
During a search conducted immediately following the arrest, officers located approximately one pound of suspected methamphetamine inside the vehicle. Investigators subsequently extended the operation to the suspect’s residence. A secondary search of the home resulted in the discovery of an additional pound of suspected methamphetamine and a shotgun.
In recognition of the proactive enforcement effort and the removal of an illegal firearm, Officer Brown received the department’s Top Gun Award, an honor designated for personnel who engage in proactive criminal enforcement and weapon seizures.
