Visalia Police Recover Narcotics and Currency Following Sunday Morning Assault Call Near The Lofts
VISALIA, CA — The Visalia Police Department conducted an enforcement action on Sunday morning following a reported assault on Oak Avenue, located across from The Lofts. At approximately 9:40 a.m., officers arrived at the scene and initiated contact with individuals inside a Chrysler 300.
During the initial interaction, one individual reportedly provided officers with a false name. Subsequent to the investigation at the vehicle, a purse was located containing various controlled substances and related paraphernalia. According to department reports, the items seized included quantities of methamphetamine and cocaine, a digital scale, packaging baggies, a smoking pipe, and $51 in U.S. currency.
One individual at the scene claimed the items did not belong to them, stating they were holding the bag for someone else. Following the conclusion of the investigation at the scene, law enforcement officials determined there was sufficient cause for the arrest of two individuals. A third person present during the encounter was released from the scene without charges.
The two suspects were transported and booked into the local jail on charges related to the assault investigation and the possession of narcotics with intent to distribute. No further information regarding the identities of the individuals or the specific nature of the original assault report was immediately available.
