Fontana Police Arrest Man in Connection with ICAC Task Force Investigation

FONTANA, CA – Detectives with the Fontana Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force have arrested 35-year-old Fernando Navarrete following an investigation into illegal online communications. According to department records for Case 26-3194, Navarrete had been in contact with a 13-year-old female resident of Idaho since July 2025.

The investigation determined that the communications took place via text messaging after an initial meeting on the social media platform TikTok. Officials state that Navarrete utilized the username “Drew_9098” and falsely identified himself as an 18-year-old named “Drew” to establish contact with the minor. During the course of their interactions, Navarrete allegedly persuaded the victim to transmit multiple images categorized as child sexual abuse material.

On April 29, 2026, Navarrete arrived at the Fontana Police Department and voluntarily surrendered to detectives. He was taken into custody on charges of possession of child sexual abuse material and was subsequently booked at the West Valley Detention Center.

The Fontana Police Department is continuing its investigation to determine if there are additional individuals who may have had similar contact with Navarrete on social media platforms. The ICAC Task Force is requesting that anyone with relevant information contact Detective Romo at fontanapdicac@fontanaca.gov.
