Multiple Firearms Seized During Enforcement Operation at Mooney’s Grove Easter Car Show
VISALIA, CA — The Visalia Police Department’s Special Enforcement Unit (SEU), in collaboration with Traffic, Patrol, TRATT, and the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office TAGNET, conducted an enforcement operation on Saturday, April 4, 2026. The operation took place during the annual Mooney’s Grove Easter Car Show and resulted in the seizure of multiple illegal firearms and several arrests.
During one traffic stop, officers utilized VPD K9 Maui to assist in a vehicle search. The search led to the discovery of an unregistered handgun, a stolen handgun, a P80-style “ghost gun,” and a high-capacity drum magazine. Two individuals from the Fresno area, 35-year-old Moises Cabrera of Parlier and 55-year-old Marc Sanders of Fresno, were taken into custody. Both subjects face multiple firearms-related charges.
In a separate enforcement action involving a vehicle exiting the park, officers contacted 22-year-old Mario Perez of Corcoran. According to department reports, Perez was in possession of a loaded, unregistered handgun equipped with a high-capacity magazine, located in his waistband. Perez was arrested and booked on firearms charges and an outstanding warrant from Kings County.
